Estrogen and the brain: What is known about its role in healthy aging? Join Gillian Einstein for the 4th and final part of the Talk Brain series, presented by the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Ontario Brain Institute. Dr. Gillian Einstein holds the Wilfred and Joyce Posluns Chair in Women’s Brain Health and Aging. She is studying cognitive aging and associated disorders on women’s brain health. Estrogen mediates growth in the brain, building connections in areas related to memory, emotion and cognition in women. A key area of her research is why women are more affected by brain disorders like depression, stroke and dementia than men.
