<< Prev | Next >>
January 20, 2019

January (un)told: Scottish Blether This edition of (un)told is presented in association with The Scottish Society of Ottawa‘s 2019 OttScot Festival! According to the Scottish word of the week (from Scotsman.com): “A basic definition of the word blether is, in colloquial terms, a lengthy chat between friends. When applied to a person, blether is also a term for a gossip, a chatterbox, or someone who talks a lot of nonsense. A bletherer can also be someone who is prone to boasting and exaggeration. With roots as far back as the 15th century, blether has featured regularly in Scottish literature.” We are collecting stories on the theme “Scottish Blether” Sign up to tell your story by sending your pitch to untold.ottawa@gmail.com. Stories should be 7 minutes long or shorter, and told without notes or props. Sit back and enjoy the sweet mix of spontaneity, humour, and occasional outrageousness. Sunday, January 20, 2019, 7:30pm Heart & Crown ByWard Market (Black Rose Room) Admission is FREE!
