In the Footsteps of Da Vinci

April 14, 2019

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF DA VINCI Constantinople & Marco Beasley (Italy) In 1502, Leonardo da Vinci designed the plans for what would then be the largest bridge in the world, in Istanbul. However, the project never saw the light of day, as Sultan Bayezid II found the artist’s project too ambitious. Five hundred years after Da Vinci’s death, this concert will bring his unfinished brainchild to life in music. Inspired by 16th- and 17th-century manuscripts from Constantinople and Venice, the works will immerse us in the imaginary and audacious world of Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings. Distribution: Marco Beasley, tenor Stefano Rocco, theorbo & baroque guitar / théorbe & guitare baroque Fabio Accurso, lute / luth Didem Başar, kanun / kanoun Elinor Frey, cello / violoncelle Tanya LaPerrière, violin / violon Patrick Graham, percussion Kiya Tabassian, setar, voice & leader / sétar, voix & leader April 14 2:00PM $15 - $70 Horticulture Building, Lansdowne Park 1525 Princess Patricia Way Ottawa, ON
