Join journalist and author Alanna Mitchell for her upcoming lecture at the Canadian Museum of Nature, "Sea Sick - The carbon dioxide threat to our oceans", November 24, 7:00 p.m. Carbon dioxide is even more dangerous to the ocean than to the climate. Science writer Alanna Mitchell (www.alannamitchell.com) will explain this danger and why it matters: because all life on earth is dependent on the ocean being healthy. Mitchell spent two-and-a-half years travelling the world to meet with marine scientists. She will share her scientific journeys and her final quest to the bottom of the ocean where she found hope that humans will heal the planet. Her latest book, "Sea Sick: The Global Ocean in Crisis", was released this year and is an international best seller. Mitchell’s career includes 14 years at The Globe and Mail, writing about science and social science. Location: Canadian Museum of Nature, 240 McLeod Street (corner of Metcalfe), Ottawa. Fee: $5. Registration: 613-566-4791 (seats can only be guaranteed with advance payment). This lecture is part of the Museum's RBC National Lecture Series, "Voices - A Canadian Perspective on Water".
