Join us for the first part of this historical retrospective on the films of the National Film Board, presented by former NFB producer, Jack Horwitz. From its origins on John Street, Ottawa, the NFB began its career as an instrument of propaganda. However, as Canada’s position on the world stage evolved, so did the role of the NFB and it very soon established foundations in serving Canadians in other ways. Using short archival films from 1939 onwards, we trace the development of Canada as seen through the lens of the NFB's works. Presented by former NFB producer Jack Horwitz, in partnership with the Crichton Cultural Community Centre.
