Keep traditional, community dance alive!
Coming January 2013!!
New to Ottawa: an intergenerational dance gathering - for homeschooling folks, retired folks, and any other folks in Ottawa that want to dance during the day. Open to people of all ages. No previous folk dance experience necessary, only the willingness to learn in a supportive, respectful, and accepting environment. And expect to have FUN!
Location: Champlain Park Field House ; Carleton Avenue between Clearview Avenue and Pontiac Street, off Island Park Drive
When: starting Thursday January 17, 2013, and every two weeks for 6 week sessions; to be repeated as much as folks want to dance!
Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon
What: Joyful community dance. We will learn traditional community dances of Canada and the U.S., Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. And from Iceland to India!
